Darlinghurst - High-Rise Fire Safety Rectification

Delivered fire safety rectification to a 12-storey mixed-use building, including stair balustrade upgrades, 600 compliant stair nosings, re-entry door upgrades and unit door replacements, ensuring compliant egress and full life safety performance across all levels.

Project Highlights

Major fire and life safety rectification works were undertaken at this 12-storey mixed-use strata building in Darlinghurst comprising 135 residential units, ground floor retail and a multi-level basement carpark.

The project included extensive balustrade modifications throughout multiple fire-isolated stairways, with installation of additional top and infill rails to achieve compliant barrier heights and opening limitations. All balustrades were mechanically prepared, treated and fully repainted. A total of 600 compliant non-slip stair nosings were installed across basement and residential stair cores. Re-entry functionality was also upgraded to fire-isolated stair doors to ensure compliant egress from all nominated levels.

Residential unit entry doors were also upgraded and replaced where required.
