Bankstown - Mixed-Use Compliance and Fire Upgrade
This 12-storey mixed-use development in Bankstown required staged upgrades to bring the building into compliance with current BCA requirements.
Our works included extensive fire door rectification and hardware upgrades, installation of compliant stair nosing’s throughout all fire-isolated stair cores, construction of new fire-rated plasterboard passageways to extend compliant discharge paths, and installation of required statutory exit signage. All works were delivered in accordance with the relevant Australian Standards, with full certification provided upon completion.
To the basement entry, we constructed a fire rated shielding wall to protect the hydrant booster assembly in accordance with AS2419.1 requirements.
Additional structural works included the construction of a reinforced concrete baffle wall within the OSD tank and installation of a new PVC sheet membrane waterproofing system to the tank
The project also involved cutting new openings within existing brick service shafts to facilitate mechanical ducting and ventilation upgrades, with all new penetrations appropriately fire-stopped to maintain required FRLs. All works were carefully staged within an occupied building, ensuring minimal disruption while maintaining strict safety and compliance standards.
